New York Post: Major Banks Closed Accounts/ Refused Credit To Americans Based On Political/Religious Beliefs

Started by American Intellect Newsdesk

The U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency investigation documented patterns of service restrictions affecting conservative-leaning retailers, faith-based initiatives, and politically active organizations. The findings stem from an agency supervisory review that examined roughly 100,000 consumer complaints and scrutinized over 420,000 pages of internal bank records spanning 2020 through late 2025. The investigation targeted nine major lenders, including JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, Citibank, Wells Fargo, Capital One, PNC, TD Bank, U.S. Bank, and BMO Bank. Republican Senator Rand Paul (Kentucky): "The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency reviewed nine of the nation’s largest banks and found all nine had policies that required, encouraged, or influenced staff to deny or limit service based on customers’ political or religious beliefs or lawful business activity. Debanking people for their political beliefs is a threat to every American’s liberty."
