Jared Kushner Sued By Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington
Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington is suing Trump family member Jared Kushner in District Court for acting as an unofficial government diplomat without being vetted: They allege that "Jared Kushner, the president’s son-in-law and envoy, is breaking the law by acting as one of the country’s top diplomats without undergoing Senate confirmation or filing financial disclosures, according to a lawsuit filed today by Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington. The court must block Kushner from continuing to perform his outsized role and compel him to file his required financial disclosures. Kushner was required to file financial disclosures, which showed that he and Ivanka Trump made between $172 million and $640 million in outside income while working in the White House. Soon after the Trump administration ended, Kushner secured billions of dollars for his investment firm from the very governments he had worked closely with in his official capacity."
